About Amelia
I am a gardener, horticultural therapist, and psychotherapist based in Naarm (Melbourne). I work in private practice offering both horticultural therapy and psychotherapy, and I also hold a position as a Garden Therapist at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Across all of my work, I am interested in creating spaces for meaningful conversation— with ourselves, with others, and with the living world around us. This sense of connectedness can bring greater depth and meaning to our lives.
I hold a Diploma of Transpersonal Counselling and a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, with a specialisation in Focusing-oriented Psychotherapy.
My path into gardening was deeply personal. After the death of my brother in 2022, I found myself drawn to the garden. There, my inner experience was reflected in the slow rhythms and cycles of nature. The garden became the only place that felt “right”.
This experience shaped my desire to share how gardening can support healing. It led me first to volunteer with Therapeutic Horticulture Australia, and then to establish my own practice as a horticultural therapist.
Today, I’m interested in how trauma and grief can open pathways to connection, healing, and growth, particularly through gardening.
Treatment approaches include: Emotionally Focused, Existential, Experiential Therapy, Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy, Horticultural Therapy, Humanistic, Integrative, Interpersonal, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Transpersonal, Trauma Focused
